Embryo freezing is a similar process to egg freezing (check out our Egg Freezing 101 page if you haven’t yet). One big difference is that eggs are unfertilized cells whereas embryos are eggs fertilized with sperm.
Technically speaking… preservation of embryos has a higher success rate of future pregnancy than preservation of eggs, so if you have a partner or might consider a sperm donor, this is a great option to discuss with your CNY Preserve team!
Why choose embryo freezing
There are many reasons for freezing and preserving your embryos for future use. Here are some of the most common…
You know the sperm you want to use for a future pregnancy, but you aren’t yet ready to have a baby.
You’re already doing IVF and want to make use of your surplus embryos to create options for a second or third child down the line.
You have an illness that requires medical treatments that could impact your fertility and want to preserve your embryos to transfer later.
You have Diminished Ovarian Reserve and may need extra stimulation over time to get the number of embryos you need for the highest chance of future pregnancy.
Depending on how you decide to freeze your embryos, the price may be different.
For those freezing their embryos from an IVF Cycle, there is no additional cost and that includes storage for 12 months. Storage after the first 12 months is $350 per year.
For those doing an embryo banking cycle, the fee is $3,900. Of course, like all of our treatments, you can finance with us allowing you to make smaller more affordable monthly payments of around $200/month.
For your convenience, we now have the ability to take payment online. Enter the amount, the patient's name, and then click MAKE PAYMENT. This will take you to the checkout page, all fields with a blue star must be filled in.
